Pinglehead Brewing Company

Jacksonville is an area I can't wait to explore. I've driven past many times but haven't had much of an opportunity to stop for a visit. I recently had a chance to go up for a quick visit. This was a day trip where I was tagging along with hubs. After his work was finished we sought out a brewery to visit during lunch.

Jacksonville has about eight breweries in the metro area. Our choice on who to visit was easy. Not that we wouldn't have gone anyways, but Pinglehead Brewing Company was about the only one open early and it was near where were.

Pinglehead Brewing Company is a brewery located inside Brewer's Pizza restaurant in Orange Park just southwest of Jacksonville. The eatery/brewery is located in a strip mall not far from 295, making it a convenient stop for pizza and beers.

Lots of Beer Options

The place has a casual restaurant feel about it. If you didn't know you couldn't tell there was a brewery in the back. During our visit it felt like this is where the locals come to enjoy some lunch or even belly up to the bar for conversation.

Bryan and I have enjoyed Pinglehead beers in Orlando. Bryan fell in love with Pinglehead Imperial Red the first time he had it at Oblivion Taproom.

The had a nice variety of beers on their tap menu. They also had a great selection of guest taps and bottles to choose from.

I went with a beer flight and got a Banana Pancakes strong ale (11% ABV), BaDaSs DBS Belgian strong dark ale (9%ABV), Endless Screamsicle blonde ale (5.3% ABV) & Reign of Hops DIPA. These were all quite flavorful & different beers. My favorite out of the flight was Reign of Hops. This was a delicious imperial IPA. This is a made with blood oranges. You could only taste a hint of them. The hops really stood out. Endless summer was really good too. It tasted like an orange creamsicle, but not overly sweet for me.

Pizza is one of my favorite foods. I was happy to see so many delicious options on the menu. We asked about some of their popular pies since so many sounded tasty. We went with Bacon Chicken Ranch pizza. I usually don't like to get meat on my pizza, but I couldn't resist. I'm glad we got it because it was delish! There's nothing like pizza and beers. They also have a nice selection of sandwiches if pizza isn't your thing.

We really enjoyed ourselves. The beer and food were good and the service was friendly too. We chatted with a few other folks in the bar area and you could tell this was a place they enjoy frequenting.
