Craft Beer Finds in Winter Park Florida

Winter Park is a place I call home. The craft beer scene is coming along. There are a few breweries to check out and some craft beer eateries worth visiting as well. They're all close to each other that you could make an afternoon brewery hopping.

Cask & Larder restaurant moved to the airport, but they are still brewing their beer in Winter Park. They offer my favorite Happy Hour in town.  🍻

Craft Beer in Orlando Neighborhoods

The craft beer scene has come a long way since I first moved to Orlando in 2011. Most places now offer some sort of craft on tap. You can spend an afternoon in one of Orlando's neighborhood drinking away. Here are some local guides I put together based on the places I have visited and recommend.🍻

Getting Crafty in Sanford

Sanford two breweries with a few more in the works. They have craft beer bars and eateries scattered about this charming town. Because there are so many places to enjoy craft beer everyone should find a place that offers the perfect pour for them.

Sanford is quite the crafty beer town.

I love that this historic town has so many options that you can have fun walking around town doing your own pub crawl. Another fun way to explore Sanford's craft beer scene is on Limo Cycle. I've peddled around drinking beer with friends. It's a lot of fun and you earn your beer🍺

Sanford Brewing Company and Wops Hops Brewing Company are currently the two breweries in town. They are conveniently located across the street from each other.

Both breweries serve food and have a brewpub feel about them.

Inner Compass Brewing Company looks to be the next brewery to open. I'm all for the more the merrier. I think having a handful of breweries in a town is a good thing. It makes for a great craft beer destination. Many people like myself enjoy hopping around to nearby breweries.

Along with the breweries, there are many restaurants and bars in town offering a great selection of craft beer.

Celery City Craft has over 100 beers with 51 beers on tap to choose from. They have "bistro" menu with sandwiches, soups and light bites. Enjoying beers in their beer garden is👍

The Willow Tree Cafe is always a fun place to eat and drink. Tasty German beer, food, and entertainment.

Perhaps Belguim is more your style. Check out Buster's Bistro for a great selection of Belgian beers and food. Nice patio out back too🍺

Hourglass Brewing Hosting Two Bottle Releases Saturday July 1st.

On Saturday July 1, Hourglass Brewing will be hosting one of its biggest bottle releases of the year for its highly anticipated new brews, Giant Giant Dwarf, and Augustus.

Giant Dwarf is a 12% ABV Imperial stout. It is 50% stout aged in bourbon barrels and 50% fresh stout. After blending, they added cacao nibs from the Dominican Republic, Tahitian vanilla beans, Maraschino cherries from Italy, and Brazilian espresso beans roasted right here in Orlando. The end result is a rich, flavorful stout that is a fan favorite in their lineup.

Augustus is a 7% ABV sour ale with cacao added and is the successor to Violet in Hourglass’ award-winning Wonka-inspired sour ale series. The beer was 100% fermented and aged in barrels that previously contained a chocolate stout. After 12 months of aging, they roasted raw cacao beans in house and let them soak for an additional 6 months. Drinkers can expect a truly unique beer that starts off fruity and tart, and ends with a blend of funk, dark chocolate and oak.
